Había una vez un estudiante de Estados Unidos llamado Billy. Él quería aprender español y decidió viajar a Monterrey, México. Estaba emocionado pero también un poquito nervioso.
Once upon a time, there was a student from the United States named Billy. He wanted to learn Spanish and decided to travel to Monterrey, Mexico. He was excited but also a little nervous.
El primer día, Billy fue a un restaurante mexicano. Quiso pedir unas enchiladas, pero se trabó al decirlo. El mesero le preguntó si quería de pollo o de queso. Billy eligió de pollo, pero cuando llegaron las enchiladas, estaban muy picantes. Billy sudó y lloró un poco, pero dijo que le gustaba el picante.
On the first day, Billy went to a Mexican restaurant. He wanted to order some enchiladas, but he stumbled over the word. The waiter asked him if he wanted chicken or cheese. Billy chose chicken, but when the enchiladas arrived, they were very spicy. Billy sweated and shed a few tears, but he said he liked spicy food.
Después, Billy fue a una tienda de dulces. Pidió ayuda al empleado y preguntó cuál era el dulce más sabroso. El empleado le recomendó los tamarindos. Billy pensó que eran dulces y los probó. Pero en realidad, picaban un montón. Billy tosió y tomó mucha agua.
Afterward, Billy went to a candy store. He asked the employee for help and inquired about the tastiest candy. The employee recommended tamarind candies. Billy thought they were sweet and gave them a try. However, they turned out to be very spicy. Billy coughed and drank a lot of water.
Aunque pasó por situaciones chistosas, Billy aprendió sobre la comida mexicana y a no juzgar por los nombres. Aprendió a pedir ayuda cuando no entendía. Esta aventura le dejó una gran lección: ¡la comida mexicana puede ser muy peligrosa!
Although he experienced funny situations, Billy learned about Mexican food and not to judge by the names. He learned to ask for help when he didn’t understand. This adventure taught him a valuable lesson: Mexican food can be quite dangerous!
